Worm farm

Guest speakers from the Waikato College of Education told us about their visit to the Tuaropaki Vermiculture farm at Mokai.

We learned that worms don't have a nose, eyes, ears or teeth, 220 species call NZ their home, baby worms become adults in just two or three months and worms eat their bodyweight in food each day.

The poos (called vermicasts) and wees of worms are an awesome fertilizer with heaps of nitrogen that makes plants and trees grow!!
